So when everyone asks me what I did on my week of spring break, here is what I get to tell them. I received a jury summons 2 weeks before spring break for the first day of spring break. So I got up at 5:30 in the morning on Monday to go downtown and try to evade being selected for a jury. Didn't happen. I was selected. FOR A FIRST DEGREE MURDER CASE. A THREE-DAY FIRST DEGREE MURDER CASE.
So I got up at 5:30 two of my five days off. To listen to and look at some really horrible stuff about a 19-year old being stabbed 21 times and dragged to a woods area to be found. To sit and listen to some 20-year old claim he had NO IDEA that the two brothers who were part of the crime were going to kill this boy, even though he admits hearing them say it. To listen to him deny any involvement, but then admit to helping clean up.
Found him guilty of first degree murder on Wednesday evening. Worked on classwork for UNF Thursday and Friday. Went shopping today.
SAW THE MEMPHIS TIGERS MAKE IT TO THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND FOR 2008.
GOOOOO TIGERS!!!
So it's been a really strange week. And I have to go back to work on Monday and tell everyone what I did over spring break...
